Competitive Salary, based on qualifications & experience, will be negotiated with the successful applicant. This is to include an attractive base salary, with salary packaging to the maximum FBT exempt level) including a fully maintained motor vehicle, housing and superanuation. A maximum of one in two on call. With usual compliment of 3 doctors, the regular on-call frequency will be 1 in 3. In 2010 this will go to 1:4, but may be implemented through nursing initiatives earlier. Initial contract will be performance based for a minimum of 2 years. It is essential that applicant has registration with the Medical Board of Victoria. As the service also operates an “outreach” clinic in NSW, and for other cross-border issues, registration with the Medical Board of New South Wales is also required. It is also necessary for Dr to be Vocationally Registered. This community service incorporates a 10 bed acute facility, twenty Nursing Home places and fifteen Hostel places. A typical work schedule is as follows; 8.30 – 9.30am Ward Round , case preparation, etc. 9.30 – 5.00pm Medical clinic, with hospital attendance as necessary. Includes one hour lunch break, weekly lunch-time medical clinic practice/staff meeting. One designated un- allocated afternoon session per week, for paper-work, other admin. tasks, meetings, etc. Friday afternoon off following a weekend on-call. The clinic operates on a Wednesday morning, with doctor alternating. Accomodation, motor vehicle and return travel costs provided.
