The Position
Skilled Medical are seeking applications from Senior Resident Medical Officers (SRMO) in Emergency Medicine to commence a 12 month fixed-term position from February 2021 in a large tertiary and metropolitan hospital, ACT.
SRMO's are encouraged to participate in the certificate of Emergency Medicine through the Australasian College for Emergency medicine during this appointment. Applicants seeking to gain expertise in both paediatric and adult emergencies and a desire to consolidate skills prior to commencing emergency medicine training or before embarking on a career in General Practice are encouraged to apply.
Health Service
This large modern facility is a teaching hospital with research and training links to major Australian universities. The Emergency Department has approximately 90, 000 presentations per year and approximately twenty percent are paediatric age group. This department provides a varied and interesting case-mix, with a high trauma load due to its role as the only trauma centre in this catchment area. Staffing consists of 33 consultants, making approximately 22 full-time equivalents including an Academic Chair in Road Trauma and Emergency Medicine. Consultants are present in the department from 8.00am to midnight seven days a week.

Essential Criteria
Doctors must hold full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or be eligible via the competent authority pathway and have at least two completed post graduate years of training prior to the commencement of this position.
The Package
The annual salary is between $93,512-$114,423.
