The Position
Skilled Medical are seeking applications from Medical Officers in Advanced Cardiac Imaging to commence a 12 month fixed term position (possibility of further extension for 1 year) in a metropolitan hospital in New Zealand's North Island commencing January 2021.
Medical Officer who have completed two years as a House Surgeon and a minimum of one year as a Senior House Officer / Registrar are encouraged to apply.
This position offers doctors with experience in transthoracic and trans-oesophageal echocardiography an opportunity to train in multi-modality cardiac imaging including advanced echocardiography, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI and opportunties to gain expertise in all aspects of adult echocardiography including stress echocardiography, trans-oesophageal echocardiography (2D & 3D) and interventional echocardiography for structural heart disease procedures.
Obligations include some clinical duties including a weekly outpatient clinic, ward rounds, teaching of junior staff and participating in the non-interventional on-call cardiology roster. Doctors will also have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing research programme in the department.
Health Service
This teaching hospital and major tertiary referral centre provides specialist and emergency healthcare a catchment area of 900,000 people. It is the only major District Health Board to offer all surgical specialties on one campus and is the major trauma hospital for the region.
The department is a principal centre for structural heart disease intervention, and are developing a pioneering cardiac imaging service across the region.

Essential Criteria
Doctors must hold full or temporary registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand for the duration of fellowship and must have completed advanced training in Cardiology (FRACP or equivalent).
Doctors must demonstrate an interest in Cardiac Imaging.
