Ongoing Monday to Friday locum opportunity commencing ASAP in a northern NSW correctional centre. This large and modern facility houses both male and female prisoners.

Doctors with experience in mental health, drug and alcohol, emergency care or women’s health and experience in the development and implementation of initiatives to improve the delivery of medical services are encouraged to apply.

Doctors must hold a National Police Criminal History Check and work through State Approval (employee authorisation and clearance by Corrective Services NSW).

This position is suitable for an experienced Medical Practitioner with or without Fellowship.

Doctors must hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and must hold or be working towards Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). Obligations include providing contemporary and appropriate primary health care services to inmates which promote the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates, ensuring the safety and security of inmates and the community and providing a decent and respectful environment to staff, inmates and visitors.
