The Position
Skilled Medical has an exciting career opportunity a Consultant in Anaesthetics to commence a permanent full-time position in an outback Australian hospital.
Candidates with experience in anaesthetics for all types of surgery and specialties (except cardiac surgery) and outstanding skills in Regional anaesthesia/analgesia and experience in Intensive Care are encouraged to apply.
Obligations include providing anaesthetic services for General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, X-ray explorations in children, Orthopaedic surgery, ENT and Eye Surgery, Urology, and Dental Surgery, labour analgesia in maternity and services for acute pain. Other responsibilities include undertaking insertion of special devices for dialysis and central venous accesses for medical wards, on call duties for anaesthesia and intensive care and provide services for retrievals with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (when required), supervision of and participation in teaching and education programs for junior staff, including advanced trainees and medical students, quality assurance activities and research, participating in relevant hospital committees and other administrative duties as required (occasional) and providing advice to the Director of Medical & Clinical Services on matters relating to Anaesthetics and Pain Medicine.

Essential Criteria
Doctors must hold Fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Overseas candidates eligible for the specialist pathway with AHPRA and assessed as partially or substantially comparable with ANZCA may also be considered.

Staff Specialist Clinician SMO1.1 - SMO1.6 - Remuneration Package $211,880 - $257,587 (including salary $184,961 - $226,325)
Senior Staff Specialist Clinician SMO2.1 - SMO2.3 - Remuneration Package $265,626 - $291,432 (including salary $234,068 - $258,921)
