A Southern NSW hospital requires a Registrar/PHO in Psychiatry
Mental Health Inpatient Unit. Starting Monday 02.08.21 for 13 weeks
Mental Health Inpatient Unit, 14 Bed Acute Admission Centre, located at the newly built South Eastern Regional Hospital.
The Locum will be required be on call. All Medical Officers must have a drivers licence
Please note: the CMO/ locums/ junior medical staff at SERH are required to undertake some Consultation Liaison under Consultant supervision as well clozapine clinic with the CMHT.
Positions hours: 8.30 – 5.00pm or 10.30am to 1900hrs with ½ hour unpaid meal break as per the MO roster Monday to Friday and every second weekend on call (these hours cannot be negotiated) . The locum position also is required to undertake a clozapine clinic once a fortnight with the Community Mental Health Team
On call: Every 2nd weekend the Locum is rostered to work 9.30am to 3.30pm when rostered on a weekend and will be on call Friday 1900hrs to 0930 and Saturday & Sunday night 3.30pm to 0830am. The Locum is not on call throughout the week.
Rate: $120.00 per hour depending on experience.
Call back rate: $120.00 depending on per hour minimum
On call rate: When a locum is on call and physically called to the unit they are paid prorata for the callback
· The Locum medical officer is rostered on-call Friday night from 1900hrs to 0930hrs Saturday morning
· Saturday day duty at the MHIU is 0930hrs to 1530hrs must be on site for the day duty. Then medical officer is on call from 1530hrs to 0930hrs Sunday
· Sunday day duty at the MHIU is 0930hrs to 1530hrs must be on site for the day duty. then the medical officer is on call from 1530hrs to 0830hrs Monday
· when a medical officer is rostered on call they need to be available to take calls and provide advice. They also need to be available to attend the MHIU if required i.e. to admit or review a consumer , or attend an urgent clinical situation. These call backs are to be recorded (the MHIU NUM has a system around this) and I’m provided with details for payroll.
· On weekends the on call MHIU medical officer is to admit consumers that require inpatient treatment at time required not to be held over until the next day.
· from time to time there might be a requirement for the MO to work as the only Medical officer in the Hospital but this is a very rare occasion ALL efforts are made to ensure all shifts are covered.
· There is no on call allowance
· No allowance for phone calls
Accommodation: fully furnished accommodation is supplied
PETS: Under NO circumstance are pets allowed
CAR: Locum where possible must have own car and must have valid driver’s licence. Kilometers will be paid at 26.4 cent per kilometre as per NSW Treasury Circular Meal, Travelling and other Allowances
