The Position
Skilled Medical has an exciting career opportunity for a Trainee Medical Officer in Medical Administration to commence a fixed-term full-time position in regional South Australia until March 2022.
The successful applicant will be accountable to the Executive Director of Medical Services for supporting the medical administration portfolios including:
• Oversight of the delivery of safe, high quality medical care, including clinical governance and audit processes.
• Recruitment, orientation and management of medical staff and medical service contracts.
• Ensuring junior medical staff achieve appropriate competencies as required by the specialist colleges, the SA Medical Education and Training Health Advisory Council and the Medical Board of Australia.
• Management of the EFN role in medical training programs, in conjunction with relevant universities and metropolitan health units.
• Effective communication and service coordination between resident and Visiting Specialists, Salaried Medical Officers, General Practitioners, SA Ambulance, SA Retrieval Service, Rural and Remote Mental Health Service and other clinical services.
• Liaise with regional clinical networks and metropolitan based services.
• Implementation of the EFN Clinical Governance Framework, clinical policies and best practice clinical protocols, ensuring that service delivery by EFN align within this quality and safety framework.
• Advice on medical service matters as appropriate.

A modern 50 bed complex offering multidisciplinary services to a local population of approximately 16,500 people and catchment area in excess of 30, 000 people.

Essential Criteria
Doctors must hold Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration and have completed 3 years of clinical experience post registration.
Candidates who have been accepted as a trainee by the Australasian College of Medical Administrators or who have participation in or completion of a degree in management are encouraged to apply.
The Package
Total Indicative Remuneration ranges between $97,547 - $158,330 p.a
