The Position

Skilled Medical has an exciting career opportunity for a Consultant in General Surgery to commence a full-time position in regional Victoria.

The position is responsible for the provision of General Surgical Services for patients and the successful candidate will provide routine and emergency surgical care and provide a consultative service to other senior medical staff and emergency department medical staff.

The position includes inpatient and on call components with 2 procedural and one endoscopy session. This position will be involved in the education and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. General surgery is a broad specialty and ultimate scope of practice of the appointee will be dependent upon review of training and experience prior to appointment.

This region is well known for its agriculture, farmlands, wineries and gourmet produce. It is close distance to stunning coastal areas and reasonable driving distance to Melbourne. 

Essential Criteria

Doctors must hold specialist registration with AHPRA and hold Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS).
