The Position
Skilled Medical has a career opportunity for a Respiratory Physician to commence a permanent part-time (56hr p/fortnight) position in a regional hospital in New Zealand's north island.
Obligations include providing clinical services; outpatient clinics in a wide range of respiratory conditions, sharing the responsibility of a respiratory/general medical inpatient team including being involved in the acute medicine on-call roster, bronchoscopy and pleural services, reporting of pulmonary function testing including CPET, provision of sleep services, teaching of RMOs, nurses and allied health, developing models of care and liaison with community based support services.
Candidates with a specialist interest in sleep disordered breathing (SDB) are encouraged to apply.

This 400 bed teaching hospital offers a comprehensive range of specialist, surgical and medical services to a catchment area of approximately 160,000 people.

The region has a combination of fantastic weather, stunning scenery, beaches, world-class trout-fishing, easy access to the outdoors and the Central Plateau ski-fields, and an established food and wine culture.
Essential Criteria
Doctors must hold FRACP and be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Council of New Zealand and must have completed advanced training in Respiratory Medicine.
