The Position
Skilled Medical has an exciting career opportunity a Consultant in Psychiatry (Addictions) to commence a permanent full-time position in New Zealand's, west coast - north island.
The successful candidate's obligations include responsibility for the Opiate Substitution Treatment - specialist addiction services as well as the treatment of co-existing disorders in clients who present to the Alcohol and Drug service.
Candidates with a specialist recognition or qualification such as a post-graduate diploma in health sciences (alcohol and drug), or equivalent are encouraged to apply.

A large 240 bed hospital offering multidisciplinary services to a population of approximately 120, 000 people.
This department provides a range of services including acute services (23 bed inpatient unit), community, specialist services (perinatal , eating disorders, DBT, early intervention), child and adolescent mental health services, mental health services for older people and alcohol and drugs.
The Location
Located on New Zealand’s west coast, this region is a ideal for outdoor enthusiasts offering rugged and wild coastline, rivers, native forests and mountains.
Essential Criteria
Doctors must hold Fellowship with Royal Australasia and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (FRANZCP). Overseas applicants eligible for the Special Purpose Locum Tenens pathway with the Medical Council of New Zealand are also encouraged to apply.
