The Position
Skilled Medical has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Specialist/Senior Medical Officer/Rural Generalist to commence a 12 month full-time or part-time position (with the possibility of extension) in rural Queensland commencing ASAP.
Obligations include providing professional leadership to medical staff within the department, and be actively involved in further education and training programs, in collaboration with ACEM, for the hospitals labour force.
This position offers an attractive remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value up to $573,811 p.a. including a base salary range between $159, 457 - $233, 538 p.a plus superannuation, annual recreational leave, attraction and retention allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development allowance, inaccessibility allowance and more.
Health Service
Boasting a state-of-the-art Emergency and Outpatients Department, Cancer Care Centre, Mental Health (outpatients) and Paediatrics Unit this rural hospital is the major referral centre for the region and a RFDS base providing rural retrievals and transfers. The Emergency Department has approximately 30,000 cases per year and offers a broad range of presentations giving medical professionals numerous opportunities to gain practical experience in clinical and procedural work.
The Location
Nestled among ochre-red ranges this location is known for its culture and industry (mining and mineral) and offers outdoor opportunities including watersports, fishing, camping and rodeos. It is ideal for doctors seeking an authentic outback experience while gaining or building upon rural medical experience.
Essential Criteria
Doctors must hold or be eligible for Fellowship with the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM), Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP) or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM).
