The Position
Skilled Medical has an exciting career opportunity for a District Medical Officer (Non-Procedural) to commence a 5 year fixed-term full-time position (with the possibility of extension) in the Pilbara region of WA.
Obligations include providing comprehensive medical services in General Outpatient and General Practitioner services, manage the care of patients admitted to hospital, consulting with specialist Medical Practitioners as appropriate, providing an on-call service to the hospital for inpatients and emergency department, including nights and weekends, supporting Nursing, Allied Health staff and Aboriginal Health Workers in delivery of health care, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff as required and perform clinics and provide services in remote area clinics.
Health Service
A small 40 bed rural hospital providing high-quality and indigenous health services to a local population of approximately 16,500 people.
The Location
This coastal regional city is renowned for the world's oldest and largest collection of Indigenous Aboriginal rock art and is an ideal location for water sport, boating and fishing enthusiasts.
Essential Criteria
Doctors must hold vocational registration with AHPRA and Fellowship with the RACGP or ACRRM or experience deemed equivalent at the date of commencing duties Broad anaesthetic and/or obstetrics and gynaecology experience.
Doctors must also hold current C Class Driver's Licence.
