A Metropolitan VIC hospital requires a Junior Medical Officer in Internal Medicine from 11/10/2021 to 31/10/2021 -- potential extension.
LIST OF DUTIES
• Proactively chase results and de-isolate patients
• Take calls from wards and mortuary regarding requests for de-isolation
• Document in EMR regarding ability to de-isolate or the barriers to de-isolation
• Arrange for clearance of confirmed cases and close contacts
• Inform the wards about patients being de-isolated
• Cancel suspected or resolve confirmed COVID-19 alerts for de-isolated patients
• Familiarising yourself with the updated COVID-19 testing criteria and assisting nursing staff to determine whether patients need to be tested for COVID-19
• Receiving reports from Dorevitch and Australian Clinical Labs pathology relating to positive COVID-19 results
• Calling patients with tests positive for COVID-19 to inform them of the results and assessing their situation and capacity to isolate
• Notifying the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) of positive COVID-19 results
• Troubleshoot queries from the Staff Clinic Enquiries
• Risk assess staff, students, visitors, and liaise with the ID consultants or a designated ID physician
• Provide daily summary
