- Reporting to the Executive Director Quarantine, the Director Medical Services (DMS) provides senior leadership and management of medical services on site and after hours including liaison with specialist medical services in the acute care system to ensure the delivery of safe multidisciplinary health care in a quarantine context at the Centre for National Resilience (CNR). The DMS provides expert advice and leadership of the quarantine clinical services, managing and coordinating clinical governance including standard operating procedures, safety and quality across the quarantine site and as an important member of the executive leadership group of the CNR.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide strategic public health and clinical services leadership at the CNR
2. Develop and deliver education for quarantine workers in the hierarchy of controls for prevention of COVID-19 transmission
3. Provide clinical leadership of the CNR to deliver a safe environment for staff including testing and vaccination regimes.
4. Provide a sustainable primary care focused medical service for quarantined individuals presenting with COVID-19 and non COVID- 19 related health concerns
5. Develop standard pathways and establish sustainable relationships with specialist services in the acute care system to support residents on site and minimise transfer into the acute care system
6. Liaise with the CDC and the Office of the Chief Health Officer to ensure end to end systems and communication particularly for the management of COVID-19 positive residents and their close contacts
7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces
8. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Eligible for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
2. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical administration, leadership and management in a health environment.
3. Demonstrated experience of working fulltime in medical practice as a Senior Staff Specialist
4. Demonstrated experience in clinical training, audit, quality and safety programs including national accreditation standards
5. Demonstrated experience in leading a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best health outcomes and delivering high quality programs in a busy operational environment
6. Experience in clinical service planning, policy development, consumer feedback management and medico-legal matters.
7. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication, negotiation and motivational skills
