The Position
The role of the Senior Medical Officer (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) is to provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to directly or indirectly benefit the patients/clients of the Health Service. This includes research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future.
Supervise the day to day activities of any allocated junior medical staff to ensure that appropriate standards of care are maintained and that junior medical staff are trained to adequately fulfil their duties.
Deliver a standard of clinical care in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology throughout Health Service area.
Conduct outpatient clinics in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Requires participation in an on-call Obstetrics and Gynaecology roster.
Ongoing commitment to Obstetrics and Gynaecology on-take including involvement in the Clinical Decision Unit (emergency department).
PD available upon request.
