A South Western NSW hospital requires a Senior Registrar/CMO in Emergency Medicine from 12/08/2019 for a period of 3+ months (open to shorter blocks)
The Candidate must be:
- Mid level (SRMO) doctor, a minimum PGY4, with 6mths ED experience (excluding internship)
- Available to work 40hrs per week for 3mths – with a likely extension a further 3mths. No nights.
- Good supervision (FACEMs) all of the time – 24hrs/ every day (and every patient if needed). Not responsible for Medical Ward, they have their own CMO covering 0800-2200 7 days/wk. Not responsible for MET calls (but can go along to learn).
The Hospital offers:
• $110 - 120/hr depending on clinical capacity
• 10hr shifts between 8am and midnight (ie. no nights)
• Accommodation and travel expenses covered / reimbursed
• Predominance of afternoon and evening shifts
• 1 in 2 weekend cover
• Always supported by Senior staff
Paediatric component:
The Hospital does see children, around 23% of total presentations. There is full support for every patient and every presentation. The children presentations are usually, croup, asthma, colds, minor finger/toe type injuries.
Seriously ill children will be managed by the Senior on duty and usually transferred to our nearby Tertiary Hospital – The Canberra Hospital – under the care of their Specialists.
