The Position

Skilled Medical has a career opportunity for an SMO Rural Generalist to commence a permanent position in the Gulf of Carpentaria, QLD at an integrated health service.

This position offers exceptional experience in Tropical Medicine and Indigenous Health, and provides an attractive salary package.

Health Service

A small hospital offering Accident and Emergency, Community Health, Primary Health Care. Allied Health Services Oral Health, Pharmacy Outreach Services: A community indigenous health program provides outreach services to surrounding homeland communities. Visiting Specialist Services: Obstetrics and Gynaecology; Psychiatry; Royal Flying Doctor Service (Child Health); Women's Health; Mental Health; Oral Health; and Hearing Health to a small Indigenous community of 1,000 people.

The Location

Located in the Gulf of Carpentaria it is suitable for those seeking a remote and outdoor lifestyle.

Essential Criteria

Doctors must hold Fellowship with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) or the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). Candidates currently on a training program with either college and seeking rural experience are encouraged to apply as well.
