The Position
Skilled Medical has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon to commence a permanent full-time position in metropolitan NZ, North Island commencing ASAP. Applicants with significant experience and Fellowship training in adult spinal surgery and care are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be one of four orthopaedic spine surgeons. The position includes a role in general orthopaedics as well as management of orthopaedic trauma and involvement in outreach clinics.
Health Service
This teaching hospital and major tertiary referral centre provides specialist and emergency healthcare a catchment area of 900,000 people. It is the only major District Health Board to offer all surgical specialties on one campus and is the major trauma hospital for the region.
The unit operates with 54 adult beds across 2 wards and includes a separate paediatric ward. The team covers all sub-specialties with the exception of paediatric spinal surgery.

Essential Criteria
Doctors must hold or be eligible for vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council and hold FRACS or recognised equivalent.
