The Position
Skilled Medical has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Medical Officer to commence a permanent position in a Northern Western Australian hospital.
This position is 70% medical administration, 20% clinical and 10% education and candidates with post graduate training and experience in Medical Administration or additional procedural Obstetrics or Anaesthetics training and experience are encouraged to apply.
Obligations include providing high level medical leadership and advice on clinical services (Health Campus), including clinical governance, human resource management, medico legal matters, continuous quality improvement and patient safety.
The position offers an attractive total salary package between $458,374 to $525,793 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, 9.5% superannuation and applicable allowances).
Health Service
This modern and well-equipped 66 bed hospital is the largest in the district offering multidisciplinary services including operating theatres, consulting rooms for visiting specialists, a public dental surgery, paediatric ward, maternity unit, Acute Psychiatric Unit and Emergency Department. It is supported by resident and visiting specialists. The population in this region can fluctuate between 15,000 people to over 45,000 per month during the peak tourist season (June to August).

Offering a combined outback and beach environment this region is well known for its wildlife, sublime canyons, freshwater swimming holes and outback stations and is ideal for doctors seeking a laid-back lifestyle.
Essential Criteria
Doctors must hold FACRRM or FRACGP and medical leadership experience.
