Albany Hospital (AH) is the main hospital within the Great Southern region. It has 120 beds with high occupancy rates and a busy Emergency Department staffed with FACEMs.
Acute inpatient medical services are provided by senior medical practitioners (SMP) and physician teams. Many local GPs practice in the hospital as anaesthetists or obstetricians or in ED.
The hospital has wards for general medicine and surgery, obstetrics, psychiatry, and geriatrics/rehabilitation, and an adjacent hospice.
