State-wide Mental Health Services is a leader and innovator for a unique corner of the health care industry.
We provide a comprehensive suite of services across the areas of mental health, alcohol and drugs, forensic mental health and correctional primary health.
The Statewide Mental Health Service reforms are also providing expanding opportunities in services such as Acute Care, First Responder and Hospital in the Home Teams. In partnership with the University of
Tasmania the Service has also recently announced the Centre for Mental Health Innovation which will be
joined by Professor David Castle in 2023.
All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved
outcomes for our consumers, our workforce and the Tasmanian community. As part of a multidisciplinary

Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant
professional competencies, the Career Medical Officer provides psychiatric services to the Mental Health

Hobart a small boutique city within close proximity to Hobart Airport.
The Hospital is located in the City Centre within walking distance of cafes, weekend farmers markets and
