SHIFT INFORMATION:
OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY:
Bed Numbers: 16
Shift times: Day, Evening, Night
Staffing levels for each shift time: 2 Evening, 1 Night
How much support is provided: 5 Staff Specialists.
Locums will have access to 24/7 junior support and are first on-call. The clinical areas that are covered include the birthing suite, acute gynaecology consultations from the emergency department & admitted patients, and review of antenatal and postnatal patients in the maternity unit.
Locums are to attend morning handover (0800hrs) on all days rostered on call. The Locum is then required to conduct a ward round of all gynaecology and antenatal patients and on any high-risk postnatal patients.
