A Northern NT hospital requires a Specialist in Intensive Care Medicine from 23/10/2023 to 07/11/2023.

SHIFTS:

Oct 23rd to Nov 7th 2023

Working hours:
8-1700 (8.5 hours) or
0800-2200 (13.5 hours) with on call from hotel between 2200-0800
In a regular 7 day week, people would do 2 or sometimes 3 on calls.

$2500 per day, $3000 per day when on call included.

The hospital provides critical care support to the Top End NT (population 200,000) with a mixed Adult/Paediatric Level 3 ICU with 18 beds. The unique case mix includes diverse tropical pathologies, sepsis, trauma, and neurosurgery. Annual admissions are around 1200 patients. The ICU Department currently employs 9 ICU Specialists, 1 ICU Fellow (accredited for CICM Transition Fellow Position), 11 registrars and 5 RMOs. The ICU is accredited for general, rural, paediatric (AP12), neurosurgery and trauma training in the CICM curriculum. PICU experience or paediatric anaesthesia experience is highly desirable. A large proportion of the patients are indigenous from remote communities. Darwin is a modern city with a diverse historical, cultural and culinary mix, including strong Indigenous and South East Asian influences. The Top End has a relaxed lifestyle with an outdoor flavor.
