The Position
The Mackay Base Hospital have opportunities available for Staff Specialist and/or Senior Medical Officer's to join their Emergency Medicine team on a Permanent Full-Time or Part-Time basis.
You will:
- Regional referral and trauma centre; 50,000 presentations per annum.
- Support satellite MHHS hospitals and rural sites through Telehealth and in person
- Support the Clinical Director in the medical administration requirements of the department through portfolios.
- Provide clinical supervision of the department and junior medical staff when rostered as the duty Senior Medical Officer.

Mackay Base Hospital is a 236-bed regional hospital that services 10 rural hospitals and multi-purpose health facilities across the Mackay Isaac Whitsunday region. Mackay HHS is embarking on an exciting period of growth with a $250m redevelopment of the base hospital to provide an additional 112 inpatient beds and an expansion of outpatient and support services. Significant upgrades are also underway at rural hospitals in Bowen, Moranbah, Proserpine and Clermont.

Essential Criteria
Mandatory possession of an approved medicine degree from a registered tertiary institution and;
- General and Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory authority (Medical Board of Australia), and;
- Fellowship or eligibility for Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.
The Package
- Total remuneration value of up to $392,360 (L14) is comprised of:A salary between $176.802 - $182,330 (L13-L14)
- Total remuneration value of up to $537,639 (L24) is comprised of: A salary between $204,206 - $237,196 (L18-L24)
- Total remuneration value of up to $587,432 (L27) is comprised of: A salary between $244,201 - $258,910 (L25-L27)
