Located centrally in Wellington the health service has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making them one of the major employers in the Wellington region. Operating across three hospitals and a health centre, this health service provides a range of specialist services including neurosurgery, oncology, neonatal intensive care and community-based services including district nursing, rehabilitation services, social work, alcohol and drug services, and home support services to a population of around 900,000 people.

Essential Criteria
- Eligible for New Zealand Medical Practitioner registration - Doctors must either be AU/NZ/UK graduates or eligible to apply for registration via The Competent Authority Pathway or Comparable Health System Pathway.
- Demonstrated skills in General Surgery
- Have highly developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with a commitment to clinical governance within healthcare.
