An Metropolitan NSW hospital requires a Registrar/PHO in Internal Medicine from 20/05/2024 to 26/07/2024.

Dates –Shifts listed below. Will preference locum that can take the full block of shifts Monday to Friday 1400-2200

Monday 20th May 2024 – Friday 24th May 2024 – 1400-2200
Monday 27th May 2024 – Friday 31st May 2024 – 1400 – 2200
Monday 3rd June – Friday 7th June 2024 – 1400 - 2200
Tuesday 11th June 2024 – Friday 14th June 2024 – 1400 – 2200
Monday 1st July 2024 – Friday 5th July 2024 – 1400 – 2200
Monday 8th July 2024 – Friday 12th July 2024 – 1400 – 2200
Monday 15th July 2024 – Friday 19th July 2024 – 1400 – 2200
Monday 22nd July 2024 – Friday 26th July 2024 – 1400 – 2200

These are after hours evening shifts .
2 JMOs rostered on to cover the shift as well. Brief outline below.

Clinical Team Structure

The case mix is variable as the responsibility is to review unwell patients
as the need arrives during the shift. Issues requiring review range from
minor patient concerns to acutely unwell patients who may require
involvement of ICU +/- transfer as appropriate. The Registrar is supported by
2 x JMOs who support the registrar in their
assessment and management.
Registrar will be trained to attend stroke calls between the hours 1400 – 2200.They will handover to the Night Registrar and remain on the overlapping shift until 2200 ,completing necessary tasks and holding stroke and cert pager until that time .
Two JMOs cover the hospital on after hours shifts. One is responsible for
the surgical wards, in addition to Rehabilitation and outlying patients
on the O&G and Paediatric wards and assists during surgical procedures
as required. The other is responsible for the medical wards as well as
Adult Mental Health and Medical assessment unit. During a shift they are responsible for reviewing
unwell patients in a timely manner, with an expectation that they escalate
concerns to the medical registrar who supervises them.
