- This 98-bed rural teaching hospital offers a wide variety of services including 24-hour emergency and maternity services. It is a rural teaching hospital, providing a 10-bed Emergency Department as well as general medical, surgical, obstetric, paediatric, dialysis, oncology unit and acute mental health beds, operating theatres, specialist palliative care, intensive and coronary care units. Support services include radiology and pathology departments, as well as a wide range of allied and primary health services. Inpatient beds: 27 medical acute beds including palliative care priority beds, 21 surgical beds, 5 ICU/CCU beds, 6 maternity beds, 6 paediatric beds, 6 mental health inpatient beds, 10 sub acute rehabilitation beds, 6 dialysis chairs, 3 operating theatres and 3 recovery beds, 2 Special Care Nursery Level 2 cots.

- The position is supervised by Psychiatry consultants and supported Psychiatry RMO.

A Western NSW hospital requires a Junior Medical Officer in Psychiatry from 01/07/2024 to 09/09/2024.
SHIFTS:
0800hrs – 1630hrs
Mon 1 July – Mon 9 Sept 2024 (incl) @ $160p/hr (PGY3+)
The role may include occasional rostered overtime.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
See all presentations and decide on their management including obtaining the services of specialist medical
staff when necessary
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Provide clinical care of all mental health patients and provide comprehensive medical records for each occasion
of service are maintained and the review of all patients
prior to discharge.
• Manage and develop people, inspire direction and purpose, optimise business outcomes, manage and
reform change, and optimise rostering capability.
KEY CHALLENGES
Showing a commitment to effective handover, given the competing priorities within a busy clinical setting.
• Health Service reliance on locum medical officers.
• Developing strong working relationships with a multidisciplinary workforce.
