The Position
We are currently looking for multiple Correctional Health Medical Practitioner for various permanent full-time and part-time vacancies in Castlemaine and Metropolitan VIC.
We also have a Senior Medical Practitioner position available in Ararat, VIC. Senior Medical Practitioner positions require Fellowship of the FRACGP.
The Medical Practitioner coordinates hours of service and on-call responsibilities in consultation with the Health Services Manager and the Director, Medical Services.
Salary package for full-time Medical Practitioner position is $300,000 (including super)
Salary package for full-time Senior Medical Practitioner position is $377,500 (including super)
Health Service
This health service has been providing correctional healthcare services across Australia for over 30 years. The health service employs highly skilled multidisciplinary teams of healthcare practitioners to ensure people in prison can access and receive the healthcare services they need.
Essential Criteria
- Medical practitioner currently registered by the Medical Board of Australia (from 1 July 2010).
- A minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience
- Ideally hold a Fellowship of the FRACGP (Required for Senior Medical Practitioner)
- Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team.
- Demonstrated competence in provision of high-quality care.
- Experience in mental health, drug and alcohol and emergency care. (Desirable)
