The Position
We are currently on the look out for a full-time Emergency Medicine Registrar to provide direct clinical services in the health services Emergency Departments (ED) working as a team member of a major regional trauma centre.
The Emergency Medicine Registrar will also supervise junior medical staff within the Department. The position provides clinical management and consultation services to ED patients either under direct supervision or supported over the telephone by an Emergency Medicine Specialist and engages in quality assurance activities within the ED.
The position can also offer accredited training position requiring registration with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) as an ACEM Trainee.
Health Service
The busy emergency department attends 35,000 patients annually, it has 20 treatment areas including 4 consulting rooms, a plastic room, an eye room, 12 general cubicles and 2 resuscitation beds, the emergency department is the regional Trauma centre for North East Victoria and the NSW catchment. With a dedicated team of over 3,000 professionals, the health service proudly serves a population of up to 300,000 across North-East Victoria and Southern NSW. You will be based on an extensive network encompassing two primary hospital campuses and an additional 22 sites, delivering a diverse range of emergency, surgical, women’s and children’s, community, mental health, allied health, and sub-acute services. Growth continues with the opening of a state-of-the-art Emergency Department in 2024, and excitingly, the construction of a new hospital site by 2028.

Essential Criteria
- Currently registered or eligible for registration with AHPRA.
- Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent degree.
- Registration with Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) as an ACEM Trainee.
- Significant experience in an Australian Emergency Department or equivalent with Paediatric and adult clinical experience.
