• O&G Bed Numbers: 20 beds / 10 birthing suites
• On call component required
• Staffing levels for each shift time: 2FTE-4FTE Registrars (day shifts) + O&G Consultants onsite and 1FTE Registrar (night shift) + O&G Consultant on call. Registrars work in O&G ward, birthing suite and clinics. This is shared evenly among the team. Any patients that come into ED, the Registrar will assess the patient and liaises with the O&G Consultant

ROLE INFORMATION: Tamworth maternity service is Level 4 capability with over 1200 births per year. There is on-site Paediatrician support and Level 3 Special Care Nursery. We have a specialist service with a 20 bed maternity unit, 3 birth suites and 8 bed Special Care Nursery in a modern Rural Referral Hospital, which provides specialist care to the northern region of Hunter New England LHD. Tamworth Hospital also provides a Level 4 Gynaecology service for up to and including major gynaecology procedures using open and laparoscopic surgery and 24/7 emergency service. Colposcopy, EPAS and Maternal Foetal Medicine (MFM) service are available locally at the department.
