A Central NSW hospital requires a Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine from 14/10/2024 to 21/10/2024.

The unit offers a range of services, including inpatient rehabilitation, palliative care and residential TACP, as well as a range of outpatient services including the Rural Spinal Cord Injury Service (RSCIS), and the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (BIRP). The Subacute Unit provides inpatient and day rehabilitation services, palliative care and residential TACP to the town and its surrounds within the northern sector of the Western NSW Local Health District. It is located offsite and currently the unit has 15 inpatient rehabilitation beds (with the ability to open an additional 5 beds depending on need and staffing), 5 day rehabilitation beds, 5 palliative care beds, and 4 residential TACP beds. The Subacute unit provides multi-disciplinary rehabilitation services to people who have experienced a significant medical illness, surgery or injury with resultant impairment in their functioning and ability to return home. We currently also offer a third weekly prosthetics service for patients who have had an amputation. The goal of rehabilitation is to maximise the patient’s functional ability and independence and facilitate reintegration back into the community. We have a range of staff, including full time Rehabilitation Physicians and GP VMOs, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, allied health assistants, dieticians, and nursing staff.
