Doctor must be able to work unsupervised.
All shifts are 24 hour - 0800 to 0800 – there is flexibility with these times for Doctors who may need to travel to catch flights etc.
The on-call role is to provide support for the emergency department and for after-hours emergency surgery, which may include Caesarean Section, appendectomy or D & C.
Doctors need to have required qualifications and can carry out the below listed requirements:
• Stabilise neonates for transfer which would include the insertion of an IVC in most circumstances, UVC’s and any other requirements requested by the NETS team.
• Advanced Life Support of the Newborn as well as Adult
• Perform LSCS as required both booked and Emergency. As well as management of a PPH (including surgical management), retained placenta and possibility of hysterectomy
• Manage any Emergency Obstetric Scenario as it arises with Senior Midwives
• Ongoing management of the Newborn Post birth
• Work as a Solo Practitioner providing holist care of the woman, her family and the newborn
The role includes On Call and all outpatients and birthing requirements. Cover also includes managing the Newborn until discharge.
