A Southern SA hospital requires a Senior Medical Officer in General Practice from 16/12/2024 to 23/12/2024.
SHIFTS:
0800 Monday 16th December – 0900 Monday 23rd December 2024 (7 days)
Requirements:
Monday – Wednesday: GP Clinic Consulting
Thursday – Sunday: ED On call
• Present at the hospital at 8am each morning.
• See all patients presenting to the ED as required.
• Attend any ward calls for deteriorating patients.
• Provide surgical assisting in an emergency situation (this is very rare, perhaps only twice a year)
• From 7pm to 7am the following morning, the ED switches over to SA Virtual Emergency Service (SAVES). The SAVES doctor, based in Adelaide, remotely manages all Category 3,4 & 5 presentations. Between 7pm and 7am the Locum doctor will be remote on call for Category 1 & 2 presentations (see below for cat 1 & 2 presentation numbers).
Note, there is 24/7 anaesthetic on-call for assistance with resuscitation, plus 24/7 obstetric on-call. All local on-call doctors are rural generalists.
