  • Hospital has 24 inpatient beds, a maternity ward, operating theatres, 24 hour emergency department, ambulatory care and oncology ward, X-ray and pathology departments
  • The ward is a 17 bed unit which can surge to 24. The Dr is to be in the building each morning from 7:30am consulting with each patient on a ward round and writing up the records. — When ward rounds are completed, they can leave the building but need to be available to come back should a patient deteriorate, and the nursing staff call them
  • With a population of approx. 10,000. It is located on the banks of the Lachlan River and boasts a rich cultural and farming heritage. A Western NSW hospital requires Senior Medical Officer in Emergency Medicine for the following date(s).

Shift(s) details as below:

from 23/12/2024 15:30 to 27/12/2024 07:30 at $2600 per day

Qualifications/Experience
Advanced Life Support Level 2 within the last 3 years Registered with an accredited Home CPD Duties
• Face-to-face clinical handover with day doctor for 30 minutes at the beginning and end of the shift in the Emergency Department.
• Provide medical care to inpatients, complete discharge summaries and review admitted patients as requested.
• Provide onsite medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department.
• Complete contemporaneous and comprehensive clinical documentation in eMR.
• Provide and lead clinical review, rapid response, trauma and cardiac arrest services across the facility
• Check pathology and radiology results in the ED results message centre ordered by any doctor, follow-up and document management plans for any results needed further action and review any patients returning for follow-up of results.
• Participate in the training and supervision of students, junior medical officers and registrars.
• Participate in clinical meetings as requested
• Provide clear management plan for patients being admitted with full medication reconciliation and documentation.
• Accept transfers in from other hospitals and document care plan and medications. Requirements NSW Health: Non-Specialist Medical Locum Pre-employment Mandatory Training Requirements HETI Locum Mandatory Training Requirements:
