The Position
Registrar/Principal House Officer in Orthopaedics to start in August 2025. This role is for doctors who will be at PGY4+ from August only.
The role is to assist the Director, Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeons and other Senior Medical Staff, in a variety of Orthopaedic services such as elective operating, general and specialist trauma operating, elective and fracture clinics, teaching, contribution towards regular audit, M&M and departmental research.
Health Service
Located in coastal Queensland. The Orthopaedic team comprises the Clinical Director, 4.25FTE Staff Specialist and 1FTE Senior Medical Officer (SMO), with subspeciality interests of arthroplasty, sports, foot and ankle, shoulder, spine and hands. There is one AOA SET trainee, 7 principal house officers (PHO's), 2 resident medical officers (RMO's) and 4 interns. The service has a large Orthopaedic ward, operating theatres and procedure room on site.
Essential Criteria

Australian/New Zealand candidates must have MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of MBBS or equivalent to enable registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) at Level 3 supervision.
The Package
Total remuneration value of up to $172,382 p.a. is comprised of:
• A salary rate between $129,583 - $150,240 p.a. (L4-L9)
