The Position
We are seeking experienced Consultant Physicians - General Medicine to contribute to the provision of high-quality healthcare across various regional hospitals in Western Australia.
As a Consultant Physician – General Medicine you will undertake direct clinical care of patients, will supervise the work of Registrars and Junior Medical Officers (JMO’s), and will be involved in teaching junior medical staff as well as undertaking safety and quality initiatives.
Please note these are for permanent full-time, part-time and fixed-term placements through-out 2025/26.

The WA Country Health Service has a strong network of public hospitals, health services and nursing posts located across rural and remote Western Australia.

- Pilbara: Offers a unique lifestyle including pristine beaches along the Indian Ocean, stunning gorges like Karijini National Park's deep red cliffs and waterfalls, and vibrant indigenous culture.
- Wheatbelt Region: With its proximity to Perth metropolitan area, many of the bordering communities of the Wheatbelt are experiencing an influx of overflow population from the outer metro areas and those in search of a ‘lifestyle’ change, without sacrificing access to metropolitan facilities.
Essential Criteria
- Classification and level are determined by factors including qualifications, experience, type of medical registration, location, and specialist assessment outcomes from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
- Applications from medical practitioners who hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and General Medicine trainees who are in their penultimate year of training and have completed all training requirements, are strongly encouraged.
The Package
- Generous leave entitlements - up to 4 weeks annual leave, 3 weeks professional development leave, 10 days sick leave, plus other forms of leave for compassionate or cultural reasons.
- Long Service Leave - 13 weeks of leave after 10 years of service. Overseas PDL - 5 weeks of additional leave after 5 years of service for overseas professional development.
- North West Gratuity Payment – Lump sump payment after 3 years (specific locations).
- Location based allowances which may include: Additional North West paid leave. District Allowance - regional specific. Annual travel subsidy (ALTC). Air-conditioning subsidy allowance. Subsidised rental accommodation or Government Housing.
