A Southern SA hospital requires a Senior Medical Officer in General Practice from 03/02/2025 to 24/02/2025.
SHIFTS:
0800 Monday 10th February 2025 – 0800 Monday 17th February 2025 (4 Days ED Oncall & 3 days Clinic) Increased rates up to $3,100 Oncall
0800 Monday 17th February 2025 – 0800 Monday 24th February 2025 (5 Days ED Oncall & 2 days Clinic)
* Must be available to cover entire 7-day blocks*
The role will be predominantly ED, 24 hours on-call. On the days the local doctors work in ED the Locum Doctor will be consulting in the GP clinic. ED will be a minimum of 4 days in a 7-day period.
ED Role Requirements Summary:
· - Present at the hospital at 8am each morning.
· - See all patients presenting to the ED as required.
· - Attend any ward calls for deteriorating patients.
· - Provide surgical assisting in an emergency (this is very rare, perhaps only twice a year)
From 7pm to 7am the following morning, the ED switches over to SA Virtual Emergency Service (SAVES). The SAVES doctor remotely manages all Category 3,4 & 5 presentations. Between 7pm and 7am the Locum doctor will be on call for Category 1 & 2 presentations.
There is 24/7 anaesthetic on-call for assistance with resuscitation, plus 24/7 obstetric on-call. All local on-call doctors are rural generalists.
GP Consulting Role Requirement Summary:
GP consulting in the Medical Practice between the hours 0830 and 1700.
Conditions:
· Locum doctor must be available to fill the entire placement.
· Priority will be given to SA Credentialed doctors.
· From 24th February, priority will be given to Sunrise EMR trained doctors.
