The Position
A fantastic opportunity exists for a Senior Medical Officer (SMO) to join a multipurpose health service and general practice in rural Queensland. This role involves providing comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and emergency medical care, while working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team. The position also offers opportunities to develop advanced skills in emergency medicine, paediatrics, or mental health, depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications.
Health Service

Essential Criteria
- AHPRA Registration as a Medical Practitioner
- FRACGP or FACRRM (or enrolled in an approved training program)
- Advanced skills in Emergency Medicine, Mental Health, or Paediatrics highly desirable
- Commitment to rural medicine and community healthcare
- Ability to participate in an on-call roster
The Package
- Salary: $182,106 – $266,677 per annum (pro rata) + Super
